For my Bat Mitzvah project, I am raising money for United Hatzalah in Israel. I visited the United Hatzalah headquarters in Jerusalem over winter break. Two things that stood out to me were: one, they don’t receive any money from the government and rely only on donations; and two, they can get to an emergency in less than 90 seconds. To be able to get to an emergency in 90 seconds, they have volunteers all around Israel. Those volunteers need something to use, that’s why I am raising money to get a medic kit and defibrillator. I am raising money by selling baked goods and babysitting. In addition to that, I will be taking a CPR class.
